Linda has worked with the SWIFT Education Center since its inception in 2012. She currently serves on the Center’s State Education Agency and Capacity Team and as a Pre-Engagement Coordinator for potential partners. Linda’s professional experience crosses multiple sectors, including public and private education, business, government, and with individuals. She has worked on national state-wide systems change projects; served as a thought partner and coach to organizational leaders; successfully mediated business, community, and individual disputes; and, designed and implemented professional learning experiences for groups ranging from 10-800. Linda is owner and founder of Solutions Through Dialogue, LLC. Her services focus on leadership development, creating conflict competence, and transforming organizational culture through enhanced conversational competence. Linda earned a Doctorate in Education Leadership from Indiana University, a Certificate in Mediation and Applied Conflict Studies from Woodbury College in VT, a Practitioner Certificate in Appreciative Inquiry – a Model for Business and Social Change from the Weatherhead School of Executive Management at Case Western Reserve University, and a Practitioner Certificate for use of the Leadership Circle Profile and The Leadership Culture Survey. She is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Coaching (IOC), a Harvard affiliate, and a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution. In 2015, Linda co-authored of A Positive Manifesto – How Appreciative Organizing Can Transform Public Education (Burrello, Beitz, & Mann) and in 2016, The SWIFT Education Center State Education Agency Blueprint for Equity Based Inclusive Reform (Beitz, Mitchiner, Sailor, & Lord-Nelson) – a white paper to support states in sustaining and scaling up SWIFT. She lives in Chicago, IL and is the proud mother of two young adults.
