Wendy Barnes’, Coordinator of Multi-Tier System of Support (MTSS), 18 year tenure in education began as a classroom teacher for 10 years before pursuing leadership roles within a school. Wendy served as an Instructional Support Teacher, IEP Chair, and Staff Developer. Her administration tenure began in 2012 with Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPS) in the Office of Special Education as an Educational Specialists and as a Special Education Coordinator – Academic and Inclusive Practices. Ms. Barnes is currently the Coordinator of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for BCPS in the Office of Teaching and Learning, where she provides assistance in all matters pertaining to the development and implementation of a consistent MTSS model of tiered supports/intervention processes, strategies, and procedures across the district to support the needs of diverse learners. Ms. Barnes also serves as one of BCPS' LEA SWiFT Coordinators. Wendy holds a B.S. in Music Education and an M.Ed in Special Education from Bowie State University.
